Wandering Willows is a great blend of fairly simple adventure puzzling, makeover and dress up. It combines elements of roleplaying, adventure, exploration and makeover, with many lovely touches and lots of laughs.

You're flying a hot air balloon when it crashes on a mysterious island. You're not the first person to be stuck here. Your mission is to escape.

Nothing's ever that easy in the world of dress up! The island is huge, though you have to unlock areas by completing missions for the other islanders. They all have likes and dislikes. Give them what they want and they'll help you do your missions.


When you find food, clothing or gifts for the people you meet, your friendship meter increases. Every time you go up a level of friendship, you are rewarded with items, recipes and patterns.

Yes, patterns. Part of this game is the ability to make and color clothing from cotton, flax, thread and dye. And of course you get to try on your wonderful creations, or give them to your new friends to wear!

You also have a pet/helper in the shape of the island's resident animal(s). You can change your pet at any time by charming animals. Your pet climbs trees to shake down fruit and nuts and digs up ingredients from mounds of earth.

Each pet has different levels for climbing, digging and charming. You can upgrade these by making new collars for the pet, or simply by getting him to use his skills a lot.

Some pets have a greater ability to get other animals to drop eggs or gems, which can be used as gifts or to incubate new pets in the stable.


Lovely graphics and gentle sound FX and music really set the mood. There are seemingly endless missions to accomplish and objects to dig up, shake down from the trees or grow in the soil.
